PARTICIPANTS' FEEDBACK "A magnificent week long performing arts residency, programme content and beautiful surroundings intertwined to provide an unforgettable experience. An excellent opportunity to network with practitioners from all continents. International collaborations might be explored as a direct consequence of this experience, providing new opportunities that would not have risen otherwise". Yolanda Aguilar (UK) "Perfect organization and timing. The macro structure of the organization allows the perfect understanding of the concepts exposed during classes. Also the geographical place allows that your attention is only focused on the work. For me it is a model to follow in my everyday training and which i will try to do. Beautiful people in all the sense of the word". Santiago Parada (Columbia) "Physical Theatre, seems to be the process and not the result. This workshop has definitely showed me ways to incorporate this into my process. I will be looking forward to the opportunity to work with Ostrenko again, the Lab definitely given me new perspectives and new tools to use in the creation of my art". Andy Kirtland (USA) "The workshop was truly a liberating experience for me. I feel that I have grown as an actress and will continue to pursue physical theatre training. I don’t believe that physical theatre is simply an addition to the training process of an actor; I believe that it is the core and heart of the actors training and one should focus and pursue to be able to perform with every muscle of the body". Dahlia Abou- Azama (Egypt) "The venue was excellent and the schedule was very well prescribed since we had time to take notes and to digest the information in spite of the tight and intense amount of hours. Being residential made it possible to use all the amount of time with great quality". Bruno Schiappa (Portugal) "To work and spend time with so many performers from such different backgrounds, gives new knowledge and lots of inspiration. I have now got contacts all over the world, people I can share my ideas with, and perhaps, some day in the future, collaborate with. I would like to express my appriciation to IUGTE for the great space they created for international performers to meet and exchange ideas and knowledge. I am truly thankful for the meetings which took place". Line Starheimsæter (Norway) "The network of artist friends that was built during this event was absolutely priceless. My theater vision was continuously expanding just by mingling with everyone else. Having learned so much from other people in the event, I realized I also learned much more about myself. From working mostly only in my own country, I have now stepped out of my comfort zone and familiar mental boundaries, and I am now able to see myself in the context of the global theater community. Indeed, this experience is one of the greatest rewards in my life... If I had not decided to come, I cannot imagine how many years it would have taken me to witness such things and to have already so many connections with theater artists around the world". Sasapin Siriwanij (Thailand) "It couldn't be better to arrive to such a place: green, clean, open, fresh and ordered. Everything was perfectly prepared for every activity, since eating, sleeping, body working, walking...The space was definitely a perfect context to this adventure. It seemed that everything was in its correct place, in its perfect timing and in its smooth rhythm...I evaluate the training and the whole experience as a very useful and powerful tool, not only to my professional life, but also to my personal path". Edite Agra Amorim (Spain) "The word ‘laboratory’ really appealed to me, because ‘laboratory’ is a place, where you explore, and investigate without pre-conceived judgements and expectations of a result. In other words, a laboratory is where you can really learn! It is hard to explain in words, what these discoveries where about, but maybe for the first time in many years, I felt on my own body, the most crucial to any artist and human being, a connection not coming from the mind, but from the body. In retrospect, I realise that I gained so much more from this week than just new insight in methodologies and ways of uniting an ensemble. Maybe for the first time, I gained an insight in what ‘finding your own answers in the work’ really means". Paylaş Tweet |
